Yes. The hermetic seal has been tested to prevent leaks even when tipped upside down. You can pop it in your child's rucksack after use (once sealed) without worrying about the rest of their things. We do recommend emptying it as soon as you can though.
Rinse with clean water after each use, 10 seconds is plenty. It's also dishwasher safe (top rack) for a thorough clean. Leave it to air dry, folded, before putting it away.
